RF Microneedling vs Traditional Microneedling for Skin Tightening
Microneedling has long been a go-to for improving skin texture and stimulating collagen—but not all microneedling is created equal. At Kaiz, we offer Radio Frequency (RF) Microneedling, which takes skin tightening to the next level by combining tiny needles with heat energy to firm and lift the skin from within.
Here’s how it compares to traditional microneedling so you can choose what’s right for your skin.
Radio Frequency (RF) Microneedling
HOW IT WORKS
RF Microneedling uses ultra-fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin, just like traditional microneedling—but with an added boost: radiofrequency heat energy is delivered deep into the dermis. This intensifies collagen and elastin production, targeting not just the surface, but the structural layers of your skin.
BEST FOR
Ideal for treating skin laxity, fine lines, sagging jawline, acne scars, enlarged pores, and crepey texture. It’s especially effective on the lower face, neck, and tummy where tightening is needed.
PRICING
Starts at $450–$1200 per session, depending on area and add-ons. Most clients benefit from a series of 3 treatments, spaced 4–6 weeks apart.
LONGEVITY
Results develop over time, with improvements visible from week 4 onward, continuing for up to 6 months as new collagen forms. Maintenance treatments every 6–12 months are recommended.
RESULTS
Expect visibly firmer, smoother, tighter skin with improved texture and tone. Minimal downtime (just a bit of redness), but long-lasting benefits—without injectables or surgery.
Traditional Microneedling
HOW IT WORKS
This treatment uses a dermapen or roller to create micro-channels on the skin’s surface. It encourages collagen renewal by triggering the body’s natural healing response, helping to improve texture, scars, and pigmentation.
BEST FOR
Best for superficial skin concerns like mild acne scars, fine lines, dullness, and early signs of aging. A great option for maintenance or for those with sensitive skin not ready for RF energy.
PRICING
Typically ranges from $350 per session, depending on area treated. A series of treatments is usually required for best results.
LONGEVITY
Results are subtle and build gradually with consistent sessions. Since there’s no heat component, it doesn’t tighten skin as deeply as RF.
RESULTS
Smoother, brighter skin over time. It’s gentle and effective, but won’t lift or firm the way RF Microneedling does.
